Mail Your Friends!

A throwback social media service powered by letters

How does it work?

Letters ...or postcards, or really anything you can send. Start a rolodex, think of something to say, drop it in the mail. Need to send it to a bunch of people? Mail does that. Don't want snooping? Mail does that. It's widespread, interoperable, and fully backwards compatible.

I can see you're intrigued but hesitating. Get mailing with these tips. Or get in touch if something else should be covered.

I don't have an address!?

Mail does that! You can receive mail at a rented P.O. Box or even General Delivery if you have no permanent address.

How to address

Examples are best for figuring out how it should look. Addresses are written in a conventional way using more or fewer lines depending on how much info you need.

A letter made out to the Frank Lloyd Wright house.

What to say?

This might be the trickiest part of the whole endeavor. It's easy to get cold feet. I've started letters over more than once because I thought what I was saying just wasn't good enough. But picture this: your friend opens their mailbox and gets a special letter from you. Think of how good that would feel. Tell them about that funny story that happened. Write it from the point of view of your dog. Draw a picture. Dump in a bunch of glitter before you seal it up.

You are creating something wonderful.
